Essen, Schloss Baldeney

 

In 2011 we acquired the listed castle complex "Schloss Baldeney" in Essen-Bredeney. The coach house, which was built around the turn of the 19th to the 20th century in accordance with the prevailing castle romanticism in the historic style, and which originally housed the horses and carriages, was designed with great attention to detail in close consultation with the Monument protection agency has been extensively restored and expanded into an office for our own use.

The "Baldeney Castle" gave its name to the artificially dammed Baldeneysee completed in 1933, on whose north bank the castle complex is located. 

Lake Baldeney is the largest of the six Ruhr reservoirs and is used, among other things, for water sports and as a local recreation area.
