Ratingen, Marktplatz 17-20

 

The city of Ratingen acquired the three individual plots Marktplatz 17/18, Marktplatz 19 and Marktplatz 20 over several years, for urban development purposes. Within the city, this project was considered one of the most important inner-city construction projects since the Second World War. The project called for proposals across Europe. The best building and usage concepts were evaluated in the Europe-wide competition. We are very proud that our concept convinced those from the city of Ratingen. Thanks to our high level of experience in the careful integration of new buildings into grown cityscapes and our expertise in the retail sector, we succeeded in developing the right concept for the market square in the historic old town, where goods have been sold since 1371.
